The Sunday Eucharist will be celebrated at 9:15 am followed by refreshments.
The other church in the parish is All Saints Northcote.

The normal Sunday St James service is a Sung Eucharist.  Usually, we use the Second Order Holy Communion that starts on page 119 of A Prayer Book For Australia.  St James Thornbury uses the musical setting A New People’s Mass by Dom A. Gregory Murray.

We sing hymns from Together in Song.  The psalm is canted at each Sung Eucharist, led by a soloist with congregational response. The settings are mainly from New Psalms for Common Worship, edited by Colin Mawby.

Normally a sermon is preached by the locum vicar.
Lay people read the lessons at the Eucharist, and lead the intercessions.
Morning tea is after the service in the foyer of the church.
The parish uses a joint pewsheet to guide us through the prayers, responses and readings  in the Eucharist.
